- New construction is easy—it is cheaper to build all-electric.
- The California PUC found that full electrification (buildings and transportation) would save an average customer around $100 a month on energy costs. This is very similar to what Rewiring America has found.
- Applied Economic Clinic found that even in a cold climate with relatively high electricity rates, the operational cost over the lifetime of an air source heat pump is lower than that of a gas furnace.
- The Building Electrification Initiative prepared some great DC-specific numbers for electric vs gas in new construction and retrofits, finding that there are substantial savings from electrification.
