Sierra Club Maine is committed to furthering equity, inclusion, and justice across our work as a chapter.
Our Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (EIJ) Team began meeting in the spring of 2021. Their current goals include creating a 3 year equity plan for the chapter, completing an assessment of the organization, completing a community mapping process, and having dedicated EIJ teach-ins for our staff and volunteers. The Sierra Club Maine Chapter recognizes the past injustices and harm perpetrated by our chapter and our national affiliates. We are continuing internal work to ensure that we are held accountable for past actions, and to mitigate future harm.
