We have planned a hike October 24 to Big Lost Cove Cliffs where we will have beautiful views of the Lost Cove Wilderness Study Area. Blue Ridge Group has adopted the Price Lake Trail and twice a year we will do trail work there. Our first workday is October 25. Go to our Outings page for details. Register in the calendar below. 

We will be at Brookshire Park in Boone to remove autumn olive and other non-native plants from 9:00 until noon on November 5. Joining us will be Transition Blue Ridge, High Country Audubon Society and High County Wild. The non-native plants are encroaching on a meadow at the top of a hill at the north end of the trail. This is an area used by birds and butterflies and other pollinators. The non-native plants are beginning to impact the native plants at this site. We will meet at 9:00 at the gravel parking lot just north of the ASU soccer field. Some loppers, pruners, and folding saws will be provided but if you have any that you can bring that would be helpful. Also plan on wearing clothing that will protect you from briars and other thorny plants. Bring water, snack, etc. as needed.
