On June 27 we will return to the Blue Ridge Parkway to hike the 5.3-mile Boone Fork Trail. Details can be found on our Outings page. Please be sure to register for the hike; the link to register is on the calendar below. If we have to cancel the hike due to inclement weather we will notify you at your contact information provided when you register. 

The Blue Ridge Group will again participate in Boone's July 4th parade. We will be marching with MountrainTrue and other environmentally-minded people in support of our public lands. Wear a T-shirt from a national park or national forest or state park if you have one. Remember that the parade is apolitical, so no explicit party or office holder chants or signs. The parade is about 1/2 mile; bring water. Arrive at the parking lot by the senior citizens center/Tuesday farmers market parking lot on Poplar Grove Connector in Boone between 10 and 10:30 to line up for the march. Parking will fill-up in that lot by about 10 a.m., but parking is open to all on the ASU campus. We'll have our Sierra Club banner so look for us there. Please encourage your friends to join us!
