Spring is here and there’s nothing more beautiful than the Texas landscape where the hills and fields are painted with a vibrant tapestry of wildflowers where the bluebonnets, our state flower, reign supreme.

The Lone Star Sierra Club's Water for People and the Environment Committee held its last monthly meeting virtually on April 14 focused on the topic of PFAS, with guest speaker Dr. Katie Pelch from the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Harmful VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are being emitted into the air in the Sunnyside Community from the new telephone poles that are stacked along the streetway in front of homes.

On March 21, 2025, the Houston and Golden Triangle Regional Groups and the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club visited Big Thicket National Preserve to view several areas in the Lance Rosier Unit.

On April 12, 2025, the Houston Sierra Club visited Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge. Ten people enjoyed a nearly perfect day of sun, light wind, and lovely Spring weather and each other.
