About

A creek flows over stones with green leafy trees on either side

The New River Valley Group of the Sierra Club (NRVGSC) is one of 12 Sierra Club groups in the Virginia Chapter, and a part of the national Sierra Club. We have 300 members and we are looking to grow! If you are a resident in the counties of Craig, Montgomery, Floyd, Giles, Pulaski, Carroll, Bland, Wythe, or the City of Radford, please attend some of our upcoming events, donate to the chapter, and get outside to enjoy what we are protecting. We are an inclusive group and encourage people of all backgrounds to take ownership of our collective environment. You can follow us on a variety of social media outlets to stay up to date on events and actions.

Currently, the NRVGSC is focused on getting our community involved in addressing the climate crisis by working with local governments, businesses, and universities to both plan for and act on climate resilience issues. We are active in the fight against the Mountain Valley Pipeline and keep a close eye on air and water quality issues in the region.

And we love to get outside and enjoy our beautiful region. So join our group and take action!
