Feedback on latest Revisions of Sign Code...

"As in the [Pima] County now and the City [of Tucson] now and before, the sign regulation changes are characterized as something other than substantial deregulation [...] .

In the City [of Tucson], the mass deregulation occurred some three years ago (under such buzzwords as Reed, update and simplification).

The latest revisions continue to whack away at the code, but in smaller measure.

The Billboard Review Committee caught one place where even billboard regulations would be weakened and the City has agreed to fix it (as billboard regulations are not supposed to be affected by this ongoing mass deregulation).

We are now in a situation where the regulated industry (on-premises sign industry) is essentially writing its own regulations and there is little concern coming from our elected officials."
