Join the STS

The Loma Prieta Ski Touring Section (STS) of the Sierra Club leads ski trips to the Sierra Nevada and elsewhere.

Membership in the Loma Prieta Ski Touring Section is limited to members of the Sierra Club. Non-members are welcome to participate in STS outings on a trial basis and at the discretion of trip leaders. Beyond a trial period, non-members are expected to join the Sierra Club.

How To Join

Sierra Club members may join the Ski Touring Section by paying dues and providing proof of Sierra Club Membership. Members may then join the STS email list and get electronic copies of the monthy STS newsletter, Track.

Note: Yearly memberships begin the first day of November and end on the last day of October.

Pay Dues:

Send a check for annual dues (payable to "Ski Touring Section") to the Section Treasurer. Rates are $6/year for electronic distribution of the Track newsletter. Include your name, address, telephone number, and proof of Sierra Club membership.

Provide Proof of Sierra Club Membership:

Proof of Sierra Club membership may be one of the following:

  1. A copy of your current Sierra Club membership card
  2. A copy of both sides of the canceled check you sent to join Sierra Club
  3. An original or copy of a recent mailing label and cover from Sierra Magazine

Join The Email List:

Join the email broadcast list named LOMAP-SkiTour. To subscribe to the list, send email to:

  • LISTSERV at LISTS.SIERRACLUB dot ORG

(substitute the @ sign and a ".") and in the body of the message include this exact one line:

  • SUBSCRIBE LOMAP-SKITOUR <YourFirstName> <YourLastName>

Please note that it is important to provide your actual name information on the line in the body of the email to verify you are an STS member.

To unsubscribe from the list send email and in the body include this one line:

  • UNSUBSCRIBE LOMAP-SKITOUR

In either case the subject line of the email is ignored and does not matter.
