Representing more than 400 Sierra Club members living in Lake County, California, Lake Group is the smallest of the six Groups in Redwood Chapter. We work to preserve our wild heritage, to protect and restore Clear Lake and its watershed, and to promote smart growth, sustainable practices, and environmentally friendly development.
Lake Group's first general membership meeting of the fall season will take place at 7PM on Wednesday September 23, in the Board of Supervisors chamber on the first floor of the courthouse, 255 N. Forbes in Lakeport. Vector Control District biologist Bonnie Ryan will talk about "Life in the Lake," and provide a "living tour" of the complex microscopic life at the base of the food chain in Clear Lake. The program will include live samples of both phyto and zooplankton as well as algae blooms and promises to provide an unusually fascinating look at a little-known and uncommonly important subject. As always the meeting is free and open to the public. For more information contact chair Ed Robey at email@example.com or 994 8304.
