It's Not Just Trees - Coastal Prairie at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center

On October 12, our speaker will be Stephen Benigno, Conservation Director at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, who will present on maintaining prairie habitat. The Meadow is a decades-old prairie restoration and management site located in the middle of the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. Its story includes invasive beetles, fire, and even goats. The history and management of this site will be presented, along with some fun data crunching using ecological monitoring and models to guide the future of this unique site.
