November 15 Program:

Exploration Green: Its Story, Status, Next Steps and Civic Action

On November 15, Doug Peterson will relate the development history of the Exploration Green stormwater detention project in Clear Lake and discuss the current status and next steps. It's a story of how a small five-member Clear Lake City Water Authority and a small group of driven activists created the 200-acre flood mitigation nature park from scratch. Incredibly popular now, as an important green space and community amenity, the project has won over two dozen awards and has been profiled in a similar number of publications.

Doug Peterson is currently on the Exploration Green Advisory Board and was a founding member on the original 501c3 board and a director of communications for many years.
