The BLM is nearing the end of public comment for solar siting in western states, the deadline is scheduled for March 1, 2023. There has been little news on this topic and even less public notification of meetings for the public to hear about the plan and give input. At a minimum we should advocate for an extension on the deadline and better public notice of meetings and comment periods.
Solar is essential to our transition to clean energy, but it should not be at the expense of our wildlife, human life, and wild lands. There are smart ways to create clean energy, please get involved. As the largest environmental volunteer organization, we need our voices heard on this topic.
