Sierra Club Legislative Committee has been working hard; researching, mobilizing, and advocating for our legislative priorities during this 2023 Nevada Legislative session.
Here is your chance to take part. Sierra Club Toiyabe members are invited to join in on March 27th for a day of citizen lobbying in Carson City, at the Legislature. We will meet with legislators and sit in on committee hearings. Please fill out our Sierra Club Form BY MARCH 18 to let us know how you will be participating, and we will send you details on meeting logistics.
Conservation Lobby Days is being organized by Nevada Conservation League (NCL) for partner environmental organizations. They request people to sign up with them to make arrangements for meetings with legislators. NCL is also setting up transportation from Las Vegas, food, and lobby training tips. They will set up meetings with constituents to meet with their representatives and provide training for how they will conduct the meetings. They will have a central room for everyone to gather, be informed, and lunch provided for the people that sign up.
Transportation from Southern Nevada – 3 choices:
- NCL bus overnight
NCL will be meet on March 26th at around 8:00/9:00pm and travel by bus overnight to Carson City arriving on the morning of March 27th. The staging point will likely be the Nevada Conservation League office (8540 S Eastern Ave STE 200, Las Vegas, NV 89123). NCL will make sure to send the location and other details soon. Once Conservation Lobby Day wraps up, the NCL bus will get back to Las Vegas near the middle of the night on the 27th. NCL need the following count: NCL bus or your own transportation. - Carpool with Sierra Club Members
If you would like to carpool from Clark County to Carson City with other Sierra Club members, we will leave on the morning of March 26th, spend two nights in Carson City (26th and 27th), and drive back to Las Vegas on the morning of March 28th. You may arrange for your own hotel. Some members have booked rooms at the Federal Hotel in Carson City for March 26th-28th and they have availability. - Your own transportation
