The Chesapeake Bay Group is affiliated with the National Sierra Club and the Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club, and serves the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach, and the counties of Accomack and Northampton on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.


Group Priority Issues

  1.    Coal Plant Emissions, Coal Ash, Exports and Fugitive Coal Dust; Impacts of Coal
  2.    Sea Level Rise: Reducing the Threat through Prevention, Adaptation and Mitigation
  3.    Oppose Off-Shore Drilling; Support Offshore Wind
  4.    Air Quality: Strengthen EPA Proposed Clean Energy & Smog Regulations
  5.    Oppose Atlantic Coast Pipeline  


Our regular membership meetings are  held on the second Monday of the month from September - May at 7:00-8:30 PM. We meet at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Library (Central Library), 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452, in Virginia Beach.  Occasionally there is a change of venue, but timely notice will be given.

John will share his trip experiences  and learning about creating ways to build more vital communities
