Mobile Bay Group

Tuesday evening, September 5th  at 6:00 p.m. Presentation by Kati Weis,  Investigative Reporter with FOX10 News.
Kati Weis is an Investigative Reporter with FOX10 News, where she has had the opportunity to work on a number of special investigations on various topics concerning the well-being of the Gulf Coast. She has uncovered tax dollar waste by several local government agencies, exposed consumer product dangers, and has unearthed a variety of environmental threats impacting the Gulf Coast, shining a spotlight on the lack of environmental enforcement in Alabama. This year, Kati was awarded “Best Investigative Reporting” in the state by the Alabama Broadcaster’s Association for her “Testing the Waters” special report, a story which exposed eight different public water systems in Mobile and Baldwin Counties who have had dangerously high lead amounts in the homes they serve. The story also found that schools in Mobile and Baldwin were not previously being tested for lead contamination in drinking water. As a result of Kati’s work, schools began testing.

Other stories that Kati has uncovered and reported are "Multiple Chemical Leaks Not Reported", "Unsanitary and Unsafe", "Toxic Release", "Coal Uncovered", "In the Air", and many more. Kati is known for discovering the truth and identifying lapses from it. By exposing important issues in our community, she is a voice for the voiceless.

Join Kati Weis to learn further about her environmental investigations. She’ll explain various issues she’s discovered that could be putting our health at risk, and what changes may or may not have been made so far as a result of her reporting. She’ll give us a behind-the-scenes look at how she uncovered these issues, and the challenges she faced.

Refreshments will be served at 6:00 p.m. and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
