2025 Atlantic Chapter At Large Elections

At-Large Delegate Selection for the 2026-2027 At-Large Term

The Sierra Club, the largest grassroots environmental group in the world, is proudly democratic and member driven. The at-large delegates you elect, along with the group delegates, direct the work of our Atlantic Chapter. Seven (7) individuals have been nominated this year to run for six (6)* open at-large seats. * Five seats are for the 2 full year terms. 1 seat will fill a one-year vacant seat on the current ExCom.

Additionally, several Groups have opted-in to the online ballot, so that Group ExCom elections are on the same ballot as the Chapter ballot. Please see the "Online Voting" section below for info on casting your Group ballot. Note that not all Groups have opt-ed in.      

How you can vote

  • Online Voting - BALLOTS WILL BE EMAILED ON NOVEMBER 15, 2025:
    • If you prefer to vote online, please check your email inbox in mid November for official instructions on how to cast your 2025 Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter online ballot. It will be sent to all members in good standing who have email addresses on file, and who have not opted out of receiving Sierra Club emails. If you prefer online voting, your choices cannot be emailed. Everyone voting online must follow the link and use the official online ballot. The online voting deadline is December 15, 2025.
    • Voting will occur via Sierra Club’s My Account platform. If you have a joint membership, your member ID will be able to be used twice, so that both members can cast a ballot. Please contact atlantic.chapter@sierraclub.org with any questions. The online ballot is open from November 15, 2025 to December 15, 2025.
    • Group Executive Committee Ballots as well as the Chapter At Large Ballots will be available for members to cast their votes in My Account (for Groups who have opted into the joint ballot option).

  • Mail-in Voting/Paper Ballots:
    • Those who prefer paper ballots may mail them in. If you vote using both the paper ballot on the back of your printed Fall Sierra Atlantic AND the online ballot, the only one counted will be the online ballot. Ballots should not be cut or separated from the address box found in your Sierra Atlantic, as it bears your member name and number.
    • The Election Committee will accept only ballots that are attached to your name; others will be discarded. So do not cover up your mailing address — this is used to verify that the ballot is being submitted by an Atlantic Chapter member. For your privacy, after your memberships are authenticated, the Election Committee separates all ballots from identifying information, thereby ensuring secrecy. It then conducts the count.
    • Mail your folded ballot with attached identifying address and number in an envelope so as to conform to US postal regulations. Affix a first-class stamp and mail to:

    • Mail your ballots so that they are received on or before December 15, 2025. Paper ballots on the newsletter are being mailed in late October.
       
  • Who is Eligible to Vote
    • Members in good standing of the Atlantic Chapter as of October 1, 2025
    • Each member may fill out only one ballot.
    • Joint members use both ballot columns, on the paper ballots or, if voting online, use your member ID twice.
       
  • Voting procedures
    • Each member may vote for six (6) candidates or fewer.
    • Ballots will be counted in early January 2026.
    • Members who do not receive a ballot, or who damage or lose their ballot, may request a replacement from an Atlantic Chapter office employee, who will send you a replacement ballot. The replacement ballot will bear your membership number and the signature of a Chapter staff member. Only original or correctly issued replacement ballots will be counted. No replacement ballots will be issued after December 1, 2025.
