It's possible to add text and a button on top of the header image.
This is a style guide site for Sierra Club Local Entities on Drupal -- our Chapters, Groups, ICO, Activity Sections, and Grassroots Network Teams. This is a part of our main Sierra Club website, and is a set of templates that allows our users to create a web page.
The purpose of this style guide is to display examples of some of the things that can be done on local entity sites, and to provide documentation about how to accomplish certain layouts or elements. Additional documentation for entity Drupal sites can be found on Campfire Community.
Consider this site an unfinished project - we are constantly adding and updating and experimenting here, and using pages on this site as examples of what is possible. Examples of what is possible begin below, as well as on all the sub-pages.
The Top Image
The top image (above content/sidebar) on the page is a minimum of 1440x400. The image changes aspect ratio as the page is resized, so it is important not to put text in the image, or make sure at least to look at it in a bunch of window configurations. It is also best that it is saved as a JPG.

130 Years of Change
The Sierra Club is celebrating 130th years of change. This has been a 130 year journey of learning, growing, and overcoming challenges along the way while becoming a stronger and better version of ourselves. Check out some of our victories and voices we are celebrating and lifting up.
This a section on the homepage
This is a WYSIWIG Block of text, where you can also add an image. The image depicted on the right has been inserted with the "section media" field.
Visit the images and captions page to see examples of how you can place images within the WYSIWYG editor box.
You can add any number of these sections
With their own body of text, and move them around at will. To move sections around, collapse all of them and then drag-and-drop.
Including an Iframe
You can add content via an IFRAME, for things such as embedded videos and social media widgets.
