Basic Page Sections

A list of pages that show how you can use the different types of sections available to be added to a Basic Page. These sections are components that represent different functionality. (Note: Sections are only available on Basic Pages, not blog posts or index pages.)

Dos

  • Feel free to mix and match different sections on each page.
  • Put important information at the top of the page.

Don'ts

  • Do not cut and paste images into the WYSIWYG. Always upload images to Drupal directly.
  • As a general guideline, do not add more than ten sections to a page.
    • An alternative to that would be to post individual items into blog posts and then use an index page to display those blog pages. (This could be used in conjunction with taxonomy tags if you use blog posts for other / general topics.)
    • Two reasons for this:
      • Pages that have a lot of content take longer to load.
      • The longer a page gets, the more difficult it becomes for a user to take in and parse the meaning of the page.

Sections can be added at the bottom of any Basic Page.
