Bay Area Sierra Club News: Photography Project

Bay Area Sierra Club monthly programs have been suspended for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency. The programs planned for March 18 on Antarctica, and for April 15 featuring Houston environmental attorney Jim Blackburn, have been postponed to future dates when the Sierra Club can resume in-person meetings.

Solar United Neighbors is a unique non-profit that helps neighborhoods go solar by forming local co-ops. Their new project in the Houston region is the East Houston Solar Co-op, which had a virtual kick off on March 19. Sierra Club is one of the local non-profit partners for this new co-op.

Sierra Club and Others Oppose Huge, Deepwater, Offshore, Crude Oil Terminal, Pipelines, and Onshore Terminals

 The national Sierra Club and many other organizations, submitted comments to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and others, that oppose the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) and issuance of a Section 10/4040 permit for a huge, deepwater, offshore, crude oil terminal, pipelines, and onshore terminal near Oyster Creek and Surfside Beach, Brazoria County.

You can still upload your old photos to previous outings, or walk some trails on your own, while maintaining a safe physical distance from others.
