Volunteer Opportunities

By Teresa Bell, Volunteer Coordinator

If you would like to spend some of your time volunteering with Sierra Club, there are some fun volunteering opportunities available.

Event Coordination and Tabling

We have some tabling and events that need people to help set up and talk with attendees at the event. Or you could help with organizing food, call members, and find good locations for events.  We will have some events/tabling opportunities to help with informing the public about Avi Kwa Ame proposed national monument. We are planting trees in the Las Vegas area and in the northern part of  the state and have planned two Social events for June.

Help elect our Sierra Club Endorsed Candidates

The Toiyabe Chapter has elected an early slate of candidates. We need your help getting our champions in tight primary races elected. There are many tasks for all interests: Canvassing, phone-banking, text-banking, house parties, picnic parties, hiking parties, postcard writing, stapling, etc.

Training starts in early June and up through Election Day November 8, 2022. Work as many hours as fits your schedule. If you are interested, contact Teresa Bell.

Provide Technical Expertise

If you have professional experience, education, or a strong interest in botany, biology, hydrology and other natural sciences, you can put it to good use by helping us draft technical comments and analyses in service to our wildlife and landscapes. Join our Conservation & Public Lands Team. We often are faced with corporate development plans or agengy proposed management actions that need scrutiny and expertise. We have a strong team that provides expertise and recommendations to elected officials and management agencies. But more expertise is always needed. Sign up here to volunteer.

Here's a list of other volunteer opportunities.
