In early September, Santa Cruz Group hike leader Steve Bakaley led 10 hikers to the lime kilns in the Fall Creek Unit of Henry Cowell State Park. Starting from Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton, the route was shady and relatively cool despite the blistering heat that day.
