Dear NAME,

Solar Freedom Bill important update!! Please read and reach out to legislators listed below (or known constituents of legislators). We especially need to hear support for this bill from Del Jeion Ward and Del Hala Ayala.

The Solar Freedom Bill - HB 572, sponsored by Mark Keam, has been assigned to the Labor and Commerce sub-committee. We are expecting the committee to hear the bill on January 30, but it could be heard in committee as soon as this coming Tuesday! In order for the full house of delegates to vote on HB572, it must first pass through the Labor and Commerce committee.

These are the Delegates assigned to this committee needs to hear support from constituents loud and clear to break through all the noise and bustle of thousands of pieces of legislation. Reaching out to these committee members is a top priority to contact this week.

If your Delegate sits on this committee, please call, email and tweet them NOW and ask them to vote in favor of HB572 Solar Freedom. Find three friends in your district to call, too!

Reach out to your delegate and share these resources with your friends and family! Hearing support from constituents in the days ahead of the committee vote is critical to getting this important bill passed and fostering a thriving solar industry in Virginia!

Thank you for everything you do,

Dear <Delegate>

“Hi my name is ______ and I’m from __[town name]__ and I support the Solar Freedom Bill because <Insert personal message>

Virginia is falling behind when it comes to reaping the benefits of distributed solar. As a result, we are missing out on thousands of additional careers, local governments are unable to put underused land to work and save money for taxpayers, and businesses are

missing out on smart investments that could make them more competitive. In addition, grid resilience and reliability, emergency preparedness, and planning for a future beyond fossil fuels all depend on a robust build-out of distributed solar. HB572 The Solar Freedom Bill creates eight easy reforms that will give local governments more opportunities to install solar on government property as well as remove barriers for Virginia residents and businesses to invest in solar.

We need more solar in more places to help spur the clean energy boom that could come with robust investment in distributed, customer-sited solar power. Please support HB572 Solar Freedom Bill which allows for the removal of barriers that hold back distributed solar projects. I am ready to see distributed solar of all sizes across Virginia.
