Celebrate the National Park Service Anniversary August 6

Join us at John Muir Park in Marquette County on August 6 for the National Park Service Ice Age Trail and John Muir 2016 Centennial Event!

This event will recognize and capture the themes of John Muir’s youth and life —adventurer, artist, writer/poet, spiritual environmentalist, naturalist, geologist, advocate—and show how they are alive today and reflected in the Ice Age Trail, individual citizens, and national and local environmental organizations.

There will be a bus going up to Marquette County from East Towne Mall in Madison that leaves Dick’s Sporting Goods at 8 a.m. and comes back after the event, which ends at 4 p.m. You can see the full schedule and sign up for the event on the Ice Age Trail Alliance web site at www.iceagetrail.org/nps100.

If you have the time, organizers are also looking for a few volunteers, including one person to be a bus captain for the bus and people to help at the event with set up, parking and clean up afterwards.
