Volunteer at Canoecopia!

One of the sure signs of spring is Canoecopia, the annual Rutabaga water sports extravaganza at the Alliant Energy Center, March 11 - 13. It’s 3 full days of exhibitors, vendors and sales, and exciting presentations and travelogues to enjoy. More info is at https://www.rutabaga.com/canoecopia/page.asp?pgid=1001.

Volunteer with us at Canoecopia! With a great outdoors and water loving crowd, it’s a good audience for us to talk about our activities and work to protect the outdoors and get people out to explore and enjoy it, and in particular, our work to provide better access for all. We’ll also have brochures from our River Touring Section about the paddling expeditions and clinics they offer which are very popular and a great way for people to get involved with the Sierra Club.  (https://www.sierraclub.org/wisconsin/river-touring-section)

We’ll have a table outside of the main exhibit hall inside the front doors where people will be streaming by as the enter to get to the exhibit hall. No pass is required for the outer area, but we will have passes for anyone who wants to get into the main exhibit hall or go to any presentations. This is not as busy for us as the Garden Expo and we will not have any sales items.

The mask mandate has been lifted for Dane County, but for those concerned, the outer area is a well ventilated space, and we will have N95 masks for anyone who might want one.

Sign up is at https://signup.com/go/GeRKvqk. If you’re the only one signed up for a shift and you want to have someone else there as well, please let me know.

Thanks you for your support and all that you do!
