The current situation with corona virus reminds me of the Tom Clancy novel Executive Orders, where a foreign government mutated Ebola virus to an aerosol form; i.e., so that it could be spread through the air. This starts around page 640 of the novel (hardback edition) but pages 669 to 678 offer the shortest description, especially the last four pages. On page 676, one person asks the question "You know how many viral diseases we know how to cure?" The answer: "None." The actions taken to fight the spread of the virus (page 680) are similar to what we are now experiencing. Right now, it makes for some timely reading. [jw]
