Nearly 80 people packed the Sunbeam Gallery in Peoria to learn about the life-span costs of coal and to see a unique art presentation. The Beehive Collective uses intricate black and white drawings to illustrate the story of coal from mining to burning and disposal and the damages caused to living things and the environment. The full art work filled an entire wall. The True Cost of Coal Narrative Poster is also available to browse online at the Beehive Collective website.

The program was sponsored by Central Illinois Healthy Community Alliance, Prairie Rivers Network, Canton Area Citizens for Environmental Issues and Heart of Illinois Group Sierra Club.
