Environmental Lobby Day at the State Capitol Sets Participation Record

Environmental Lobby Day
Peoria area volunteers at Environmental Lobby Day in Springfield on April 26th

Volunteers from Peoria joined with over 300 citizens from across the state in Springfield on April 26th to connect with legislators and rally outside the Capitol. Efforts focused on environmental legislation with some good news by the end of the day. House Bill 5392, which would have critically weakened the state Endangered Species Board, was halted. Senate Bill 3214, which promotes pollinator-friendly solar fields and incentivizes habitat conservation, passed out of the Senate. Take Action! Phone your state Representative and Senator to ask their support for Illinois Sierra priority legislation. Check the Sierra Club Illinois Chapter fact sheets for priority environmental legislation
