Your HOI Group depends on volunteers, like you! A short list of events in June that volunteers made possible is below. Please consider how you would like to help HOI! Email your interests to
hoi@illinois.sierraclub.org or fill out our volunteer survey form on our website. 

• June 4th - National Trails Day and National Pollinators Day Celebration at Starved Rock State Park, HOI Table with bike Trails information and the Importance of Pollinators, handing out pollinator plant seeds.
• June 7th - Dedication of the Preston Jackson whale sculpture ‘Shirley Armstrong’ at the Peoria Heights Public Library, HOI Chair Bob Jorgensen giving comments.
• June 18th - Peoria Juneteenth Celebration at John Gwyn Park, with HOI Group Chair Bob Jorgensen, Diane Jorgensen and Alisha Granderson teaching about the importance of pollinators and handing out plant seeds to grow food sources for pollinators.
