The state Energy Transition Workforce Commission was created by the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA). The commission is charged with producing a report that anticipates the impacts of the energy transition on Illinois’ workforce and predicting changes that may occur from 2020 to 2050. Public comment sessions are being held in various locations in the state and via virtual access. A meeting will be held November 9th in Marion and December 6th at a location to be announced. Written comments can be emailed to Tonda Reece at treec2@uis.edu. The key topics of interest are hearing the economic impact that a closure or transition of a facility has had on businesses, schools, and families. More information about the commission is  available on the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity website.
