Call the Governor and Your State Legislators: Request a State Moratorium on CO2 Pipelines and Sequestration until Strong Regulations Can Be Enacted

Let Governor Pritzker and your state senator and representative know you want public health and safety protected from hazardous carbon dioxide pipelines and leaks from underground CO2 injection. A moratorium on new pipelines should be in place until protective state and federal laws are in effect. Federal regulations are under review due to the Satartia, MS, CO2 pipeline rupture requiring 200 people to be evacuated and 45 sent to hospitals. Updated federal regulations are expected to be completed in the fall of 2024.
