Highlands Council Staff Changes Continue
Sierra Club Welcome New Director of Planning and Science Yesterday the Highlands Council passed a resolution hiring Christine Danis as the new Director of Planning and Science.Ms. Danis has worked for the Council since 2004.She is filling the position vacated by Dr. Daniel Van Abs, who retired June 1 of this year.*Jeff Tittel, Director of the NJ Sierra Club* issued this statement congratulating Ms. Danis on her new position:
"We welcome Christine Danis to the position of Director of Planning and Science and look forward to working with her."
"Ms. Danis has a stellar resume.Even though her background is in redevelopment and brownfields, she has had all these years of on-the-job experience at the Council and will continue to be an important asset to the Council."
"Ms. Danis is the most important staff person on the Council because she has the most knowledge. She will have to stand up and protect the integrity of the Highlands Regional Master Plan and implement the Highlands Act while political pressure and political games will be happening all around her. Unlike the people above her she has been selected because of her resume, not because of politics."
