Environmental Champions Secure Victory in Election The NJ Sierra Club is proud to announce most of our endorsed candidates won. The people of New Jersey voted to send environmental champions back to Washington DC to make progress on clean energy, climate change, and protecting our water and air.President Obama, Senator Bob Menendez, Rep. Robert Andrews, Rep. Frank Pallone, Rep. Albio Sires, Rep. Bill Pascrell, and Rep. Rush Holt will all continue to fight nationally and here at home to improve our environment.President Obama's victory means the EPA can continue with their work on protecting our environment, cleaning up toxic sites, and regulating greenhouse gases.

"One of the best outcomes of this election is that Lisa Jackson gets to be EPA commission for the next 4 years and continue the fight against dirty coal and for clean energy. She will continue to go after air pollution and regulating greenhouse gases and protecting us from roll backs by the Christie administration on the environment,"*said Jeff Tittel, Director, NJ Sierra Club.* Senator Menendez has a longstanding commitment to the environment and has been a leader on environmental issues throughout his legislative career. The Senator has been at the forefront on issues impacting our environment including addressing global warming, preventing offshore drilling on the Atlantic Coast, chemical safety, and protecting the nation's wild places.Senator Menendez has been a critical leader on environmental, transportation, public health and green jobs issues. We congratulate him on returning for a new term.

"This has been a great victory.Senator Robert Menendez has been a dedicated national environmental leader and champion through his career. He not only votes the right way, but he fights to protect the environment here in New Jersey and across the nation," said *Jeff Tittel. * Congressman Holt will be return to fight for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and protection of our waters. He is a key sponsor of the FRAC Act which would remove inappropriate exemptions for hydraulic fracturing or fracking under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

"This is an important win for the environment.By returning Rep. Holt to Congress we will have him there to fight to pass the FRAC Act, championing clean energy and addressing climate change, and protecting our water and air," said Jeff Tittel. Congressman Frank Pallone has proven himself to be a leader on the environment with significant accomplishments in the protection of our coasts and our water quality. A member of the Natural Resources Committee, Pallone has consistently been recognized by the Sierra Club as a true leader. Rep. Pallone has worked tirelessly to protect our beaches and coast from off-shore oil drilling.

"Rep. Pallone has been an environmental champion and we are proud he will be returning to the Congress," said Jeff Tittel. "He has been a leader in fighting oil off our coast while making sure our beaches are protecting and our water is clean. He is a national leader on the environment." Rep. Pascrell who helped make the Great Falls a National Park and has been a leader on many environmental issues was reelected for another term.

"Rep. Pascrell defeated a right-wing Super PAC-funded smear machine and he stood as a champion for all of us.He will continue to fight to clean the Passaic River and toxic sites," said Jeff Tittel.
