Sierra Club Virginia Announces Endorsements in 2023 Virginia General Assembly Elections
Virginia – Today the Virginia Sierra Club released its full slate of endorsements for the upcoming state legislative election. These endorsements reflect the organization's dedication to advancing policies that safeguard our natural resources, combat climate change, and ensure a healthier future for all of Virginia’s families.
“The Sierra Club Virginia Chapter is announcing this wide slate of endorsements because there is no more important need than a pro-climate, pro-environment, pro-justice, and pro-democracy majority in the Virginia General Assembly”, said Connor Kish, Chapter Director. “As we conclude another record-breaking summer marked by devastating extreme weather, we are reminded that time is running out, and every state must play its part in securing a livable future for all."
The endorsed candidates represent a diverse and dedicated group of individuals who understand the imperative of addressing the pressing challenges that our environment faces today. From clean energy expansion to equitable access to natural spaces, each candidate embodies the principles of environmental stewardship and social responsibility. The Sierra Club Virginia Chapter believes that by electing these candidates, we are taking a significant step toward fostering a sustainable, just, and resilient Virginia for generations to come.
