Cottonwoods of Lochiel Bulldozed by Department of Homeland Security’s Contractors
Fisher Sand and Gravel
(Lochiel, AZ) Today, ancient cottonwoods in the Town of Lochiel were destroyed by Department of Homeland Security contractor, Fisher Sand and Gravel, to facilitate a double wall.
This iconic site in Lochiel in the borderlands region has been lost forever. It was the only place where trees touch on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. These trees had withstood the test of time and were a national treasure, but instead of being cherished they got destroyed.
