Sangre de Cristo Dissolution

The Colorado Sierra Club will be considering the dissolution of the Sangre de Cristo Group in accordance to our bylaws. Sierra Club members within the Sangre de Cristo Group will have an opportunity to speak at the regularly scheduled Colorado Sierra Club Steering Committee meeting on February 4th at 5:30 pm before a vote takes place.  If you would like to attend to share your thoughts, you can sign up here. You must be a Sierra Club member within the Sangre de Cristo Group.

In March 2024, the Chapter conducted a survey and 97% of participants noted they wanted a more issue based team dedicated to specific issue areas and less administrative over burden system it had. Additionally the Group covered all of southeastern and southern Colorado and a majority of members wanted to reduce the size of the area to be more community based.

The Colorado Sierra Club is committed to providing resources and empowering our grassroots power in local communities and that work continues regardless of where you live in the state. Those interested in wanting to tackle issues in your local community should contact colorado.chapter@sierraclub.org to get engaged and we encourage you to sign up for our next Colorado Sierra Club 101  on February 5th to learn about the Chapter and was you can engage in your community.
