The Colorado Sierra Club’s Nominating Committee is searching for dedicated Chapter members to guide the Colorado Sierra Club forward. The Executive Committee is the governing body of the state Chapter and its committees, teams, and entities. Members are tasked with establishing the Chapter’s programmatic and political priorities, internal policies, and developing and implementing budgets, supporting fundraising and other power building tactics, and representing the Chapter’s work and values across the state and with national partners, in partnership with staff and volunteer leaders across the state.
The new 2027 Executive Committee will be composed of nine elected volunteers, charged with overseeing activities of the Colorado Sierra Club. The top five vote-getters will serve for two years, and the bottom four vote-getters will serve for one year. The Colorado Sierra Club and the Nominating Committee is committed to seeking a diverse pool of candidates and encourages members from any Colorado region, background, race, gender, or age to apply
The Colorado Sierra Club Executive Committee is a working board, and all members are expected to devote sufficient time and energy to the committee’s work. Executive Committee members are expected to:
- Actively participate in meetings, monthly conference calls, and timely email communications.
- Participate in deliberations through respectful listening and communication.
- Actively contribute to advancing the Colorado Sierra Club’s strategic priorities, structure, and values.
- Represent the Sierra Club and its programs, campaigns, and policies to various Sierra Club and public audiences.
- Engage in the Colorado Chapter’s established fundraising programs.
- Support accountability procedures to ensure the Chapter’s values of respect, antiracism, justice, equity, and inclusion are upheld.
