THE CHALLENGE:

• Engaging the community, City and County in committing to a Climate Resilient Community model of practice
• Developing a climate mitigation and resiliency plan to serve as a model and guide to our future
• Developing carbon neutral targets and solutions for business, industry, infrastructure, housing, agricultural practices and transportation
• Realization of economic benefits through building a resilient community

2022 GOALS FOR ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE:

• Hire new sustainability coordinator
• Assemble community sustainability task force
• Build off of and expand the expired GO GREEN Plan in coordination with the City’s Fairfield Forever Plan
• Support Fairfield in reaching the benchmark’s established by the Resilient Iowa Communities initiative
