THE CHALLENGE

• Restoring, maintaining and actively managing forests, wetlands and river ecosystems, prairie lands and soils in SE Iowa
• Restoring ecosystem services to mitigate climate impacts and improve carbon sequestration capacity
• Promoting the economic benefits of wildlands restoration for tourism and education

GOALS FOR ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE

• Work with City, County and private lands partnerships to develop a new management plan for local wildlands
• Work towards completion of the restoration of Lamson Woods
• Continue public education about the parameters of a healthy ecosystem
• Showcasing the health benefits to a community that stewards its wild resources
