THE IDES OF TRUMP
March 15, Mail Trump a Postcard
An action proposed by Liz Cheney.

On March 15, mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition to him. And, we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his unpopularity and failure.  We will show the media and the politicians what standing with him – and against us – means.  And we will bury the White House post office in pink slips informing Donnie that he’s fired.  If each of us writes even a single postcard and we put them all in the mail on the same day, March 15, you do the math!  Write one postcard or write a dozen!  Take a picture and post it on social media tagged #TheIdesOfTrump.  On March 15, mail your messages to President Donald J. Trump, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20500

FEDERAL

Call Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul and tell them to:

  • OPPOSE eliminating the Dept. of Education and demanding a floor vote so no member of the Senate can escape accountability.
  • OPPOSE the budget bill for fiscal year 2025 funding. This is the bill with the March 14 deadline.  If Republicans try to slip in anti-immigration provisions or massive cuts, Senate Democrats can use the filibuster and stop it.
  • OPPOSE HB22, the SAVE Act, which is an attempt at mass disenfranchisement disguised as an election integrity bill requiring every voter to show proof of citizenship bearing their current name when registering to vote. That would end online and mail-in voter registration. It means showing a birth certificate or passport.
  • OPPOSE any budget bill for 2026 that slashes vital programs for the American people.

Call Morgan McGarvey and tell him to:

  • ACCEPT  YOUR APPRECIATION for all his previous Town Halls and events and that you look forward to seeing him at the Indivisible Louisville meeting April 6.
  • BLOCK any bill that slashes funding for vital programs in the budget for 2026.  Please keep calling on this one to show we are paying attention and not going away.
  • VOTE NO on the budget bill to fund 2025.  No compromises with the Republicans.
  • OPPOSE HR22, the SAVE Act.

STATE

**For your Kentucky legislators, you can call the Legislative Message Line at 1-800-372-7181 or En Espanol 1-866-840-6574 Monday-Thursday, 7am-9pm and Friday, 7am-6pm.  An operator will pick up the phone and ask your name and address to find your representative and senator.  They will take your comment word-for-word and leave a message for your lawmakers.

Call your KY Representative and tell him/her to:

  • OPPOSE HB18 which limits affordable housing, creating more restrictions.
  • OPPOSE HB399 which limits protesting during the legislature.
  • OPPOSE SB 89 would mean complete removal of protections from our ground water including drinking water from public systems, wells and springs. This would impact wetlands that provide water retention during wet periods, reduce ecosystem benefits for people and habitat for fish, wildlife and plants. (Passed the Senate)
  • SUPPORT SB27, a Parkinson’s Disease Data Registry. (Has gone to the House.)
  • OPPOSE HB173 which will stop local governments from tracking landlords and rental properties which keep our communities safe.
  • SUPPORT HB326 which would prevent utilities from disconnecting service during extreme winter and summer temperatures.

Call your KY Senator and tell him/her to:

  • OPPOSE  HB16 which would make fluoridation in water optional for local districts. This bill passed the House (68-29) and is before the Senate.
  • OPPOSE HB398 which decreases worker safety. (Passed the House 62-33)
  • OPPOSE SB151 which is an anti-immigrant bill. (Posted for passage)
  • OPPOSE HB6 which is a power grab limiting Governor/administrative regulations.
  • SUPPORT HB291 which allows a judge to consider during sentencing if a convicted person is a caregiver for a dependent.
  • OPPOSE HB399 which limits protesting during the legislature. (Passed the House and has moved to the Senate.)
  • OPPOSE HB4, an anti-diversity bill affecting post-secondary education. Call the Senate Education Committee to stop this bill.
  • OPPOSE SB120, a federal school voucher bill which undermines public schools, enables taxpayer-funded discrimination, strips students of rights and more.
  • OPPOSE HB2, which is a sales tax exemption for gold investors while repeatedly blocking the same relief for essential family items like diapers and baby formula. (now in the Senate)

This is a Fight for Our Country

Elon Musk and Donald Trump think they can rule this country like kings.

House Republicans think they can steal from working families to fund billionaire tax cuts. They all think we’ll sit back and let them get away with it.

They are dead wrong.

This country does not belong to billionaires.

It does not belong to Trump.

It does not belong to Musk.

It belongs to us.

We do not do kings.

We do not let billionaires steal our government.

And we sure as hell don’t stand by while a corrupt former president and an unelected billionaire try to burn our democracy to the ground.

So here’s the question: Are we going to let them getaway with it? Or are we going to fight like hell?
