SOS Holliday Drive! Medical Equipment and Supplies for SuppliesOverSeas (SOS)

Dear GLSC Member,

Holiday Drive Flyer

This Holiday Season, Greater Louisville Sierra Club is partnering with SOS International in a service project to help others in need and reduce landfill waste. SOS, a global health nonprofit based in Louisville, collects surplus medical supplies and equipment which are processed and redeployed to increase access to medical care locally and around the world.

Throughout its history, SOS has helped divert 5 million pounds of medical equipment from landfills. SOS can accept all medical supplies that have not been used and used medical equipment that may be in storage at your home. Some examples include canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, and nebulizers. They also accept personal hygiene products that are not opened.

GLSC members should bring their donation directly to SOS.

Please see their website for a very detailed list of what medical equipment SOS can collect.

When you make your donation, please make sure to let SOS know you are a GLSC member. We are hoping to share this information at our Winter Solstice Gathering as well. Donations can be dropped off at SOS Monday-Friday 8 AM-4PM. The SOS address is 1500 Arlington Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206. Feel free to call SOS with any questions. 502-736-6360.

Please feel free to call or text Sierra Club member Chad Buck 334-488-0527 if you would like to bring an item for donation to the December Winter Solstice program at Locust Grove. Car space is limited, but Chad can certainly try to make arrangements to help you if needed. Thank you for your support with this effort and please reach out to Chad or SOS if you have questions.
