Urgent Action Needed on Climate Change Funding in Ann Arbor

Dear Sierra Club Huron Valley Group Members,

On March 4, Ann Arbor residents wearing green shirts filled City Council chambers to overflowing, sending a message loud and clear that climate change action is crucial. Now we need to show up again to support the resolution proposed by Mayor Taylor and Council Member Kathy Griswold providing substantial, reliable, long-term funding for the city's Climate Action Plan (see the MLive article Ann Arbor mayor proposes new plan to ‘untie the 40-40-20 knot’).

For background, talking points, contact information, and instructions for signing up to speak on April 1, see the Activist Kit prepared by the Ann Arbor Climate Partnership.

Between now and Monday, April 1st, please:
  • Write or call your council members to express your concern about climate change and your support for the resolution proposed by Mayor Taylor and Council Member Griswold.
  • Attend the Council Caucus on Sunday, March 31 from 7-9 at City Hall. You will have an opportunity to speak if you would like.
  • Attend the City Council Meeting on Monday, April 1 at 7PM.
Be sure to wear a green shirt to the meetings!

Thank you,

The Sierra Club, Huron Valley Group
