  • April 12: California Poppy Day 2026, held annually in celebration of our golden state flower and other native plants is celebrated at the California Nature Art Museum with free admission 1511-B Mission Dr. Native plants will be on sale along with adoptable bunnies and guinea pigs.
  • April 18: Wild Harmony, a chamber concert benefit to help injured and orphaned birds of prey via the Ojai Raptor Center. Held at the Ojai Art Center, 2-5pm. Tickets here:

  • April 18: Stow Canyon Cleanup, an annual event for Earth day, 9am-noon. Details at:

  • May 27: Friend or foe? Learn the truth about sharks, their beauty and importance in healthy ecosystems by underwater photographer Richard Salas 5-6:30pm. Held at Figueroa Mt. Brewery, 45 Industrial Way, Buellton.
  • June 28: SBCAN at 25: Honoring the Work, Empowering the Future on Sunday, June 28 at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez from 1:00PM to 4:00 PM. Your gift will help ensure that our work continues to grow and impact the community we all care about. sbcan.org/fundraiser

EARTH DAYS & ELECTRIC VEHICLE SHOWCASES  

The official theme for Earth Day April 22, 2026, is "Our Power, Our Planet." The theme  emphasizes the role of individual and community action in protecting the environment. Compiled by Kent Bullard

April 18th, Ventura Plaza Park, Earth Day, and EV Showcase.

Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. Plaza Park 651 E. Thompson Blvd. Ventura . Join us for the City of Ventura Earth Day. Register, bring your Electric Vehicle, and spend the day mingling with others in the EV community while we educate festival attendees about EV ownership. 

Last year, we had 35 vehicles on display, representing a wide variety of models, from a 1916 Rauch & Lange to a 2025 Cadillac Optiq. We need volunteers to help make the event happen during setup and breakdown.  Register to attend and showcase your vehicle at -

April 18th, Thousand Oaks Arbor Day and EV Showcase.

Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. 2525 N. Moorpark Rd. Thousand Oaks. Bring your vehicle and come to this free, family-friendly event.Includes kids’ activities, live music, plant giveaway, and free compost.

April 25th & 26th, Santa Barbara Earth Day 2026 & Green Car Show

Saturday, 11 am to 8 pm, at Alameda Park, Sunday, 11 am to 7 pm. (https://www.sbearthday.org/)

Earth Day in Santa Barbara is a two-day event that draws over 30,000 participants. This is one of the longest-running Earth Day celebrations. A big draw is the Green Car Show, which features ride-and-drive opportunities in EVs and static displays of various makes, models, and types of electric cars, trucks, and equipment.

Each day we have spaces for eight vehicles, which have already been filled. Come for either or both days.

April 26th, the Ventura Charter School will once again present EcoFest in West Ventura, 2060 Cameron Street, Ventura. This free, family-friendly festival is held on the beautiful VCS campus. With thousands of attendees, the event promises an exciting day filled with live music, vendor booths, food trucks, a silent auction, raffles, and more!

This event brings us together, with local companies sharing products and services, nonprofits promoting best practices, and Ventura Charter School showcasing its unique approach/contribution to public education.
