Why give to Inspiring Connections Outdoors?

Knoxville ICO is a one hundred percent volunteer effort. However, we do have expenses. The greatest expense is for transportation to pick children up from their schools and neighborhood organizations, take them to the outing, and return them safely home. Other expenses include food, camping equipment, and permits and fees. Contributions are welcome and needed.

The Knoxville ICO accepts donations of equipment in good condition. In particular we can use youth sized daypacks, rugged water bottles that are readily cleaned, youth sized ponchos. We are starting overnight camping trips. We could use 2 person tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads. If you have any of these items in good useable condition stashed in storage places of your home that you are no longer using please consider donating them to our Knoxville ICO program.

Are donations to ICO tax deductible?

All monetary donations are tax deductible through the Sierra Club Foundation the 501(c)(3) sponsor of the Knoxville ICO. However donations of Equipment items are not tax deductible. The Sierra Club Foundation does not charge a fee which means that 100% of your donation goes directly to fund youth outings.
