Let’s Envision a Transformed Clark County Together

Sprawl in Las Vegas

By Jasmine Vazin, Clean Transportation For All Organizer, Las Vegas

Clark County has begun drafting a new master plan, which is the guiding document the County uses when making planning and development decisions. The county is planning to start with a public outreach process aimed at creating a community wide vision for the future through October 2020. This initiative has its own webpage, Transform Clark County, and the first survey to collect community input will close July 31st, 2020.

The Clark County master plan covers eight sectors of planning: Transportation, Housing, Public Buildings and Facilities, Recreation and Green Space, Land Use, Safety, Historic Preservation, and Conservation. These sectors have a huge impact on each of our everyday life. For the first time in 50 years, we as community members have an opportunity to create the future for Clark County that we want.

Your involvement in this drafting process is essential to creating a vision that is based on the needs and vision of our community; and not just that of decision makers, developers, and commercial interests. Your voice matters, and you can directly help influence how this plan is written by taking Clark County’s first survey for the project. This is an opportunity to share your personal thoughts and experiences living in Clark County and help shape the future!

For us, the future means innovative transportation solutions, land use policies that protect our planet, and an economy that works for everyone.
