Reno ICO is Recruiting Leaders and Volunteers!

Reno Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO) will be holding our first Retreat and Outdoor Leadership Training over the weekend of March 3-5 at the beautiful and historic Sierra Club Clair Tappan Lodge. This is an opportunity to engage in the Sierra Club’s Outdoor Leadership Training with a focus on getting young people outside. Learn how to facilitate safe and engaging youth backpacking and snowshoeing adventures as we hang out, eat, play, hike, and sing around the campfire, and even go snowshoeing!

Snowpeople

Food, lodging, training and fun are free! (Donations are encouraged.) All participants are expected to attend two ICO trips in 2023.

Reno ICO provides outdoor adventures and experiences to youth and young adults in Reno and Northern Nevada. ICO promotes individual growth and facilitates transformative life experiences through snowshoeing, backpacking, hiking, rafting and other activities, focusing on environmental and outdoor skills education and leadership development.

We now have a storeroom with over 1,000 pieces of outdoor equipment and clothing. These will be used on our first snowshoe trips with Proctor Hug High School in Sparks in January and February. Below are the 79 pairs of waterproof hiking boots and a few of our snowshoes that young people will use. Now we need you to become part of the ICO family to help us get young people outdoors!
