The Legislative Committee has been hard at work evaluating upcoming bills related to the environment, equity and justice, wildlife, and other issues of importance to Sierra Club. Some bills we are working on include a ban on Neonic Pesticides to save the bees, an Environmental Justice study, an Urban/Community forestry bill to increase trees in urban hot spots, and a bill to add a Green Amendment to the state constitution. There are also many bills related to water policy in the state. We are writing and presenting testimony to the legislature on behalf of Sierra Club; we also have email and text campaigns to ask our members to voice their support through phone calls to legislators and by registering their support or opposition to bills on the Nevada Legislative website (NELIS).
