Quilting for Community

A group has been meeting weekly in Morgantown to learn about quilting and sewing, to meet new people, and to learn how they can make a difference in climate change, including through the Beyond Coal Campaign. The hope is to finish their Log Cabin quilt by Earth Day (April 22) and display it around the state to spark conversations about environmental advocacy. If you’d like to join the group or help start a quilting effort in your community, please contact Lisa DiBartolomew (lisa.dibartolomeo@sierraclub.org).

Outings

Join us on an Outing to explore our beautiful state.  Outings include hiking and biking events in the state and are shown on the calendar below. We have trained Outings Leaders to lead you on a great outdoor experience.

Everyone must sign a Sierra Club Liability Waiver to attend an outing. If you see an outing that interests you, try to call the Leader at least one week in advance to sign up and for outing details. And please notify the Leader if you have to cancel your participation.

Outings are rated as EASY (mostly flat; suitable for beginners), MODERATE (flat with some ascents and descents and possible stream crossings; suitable for novice hikers with some experience) or STRENUOUS (includes steep climbs and downhill sections with stream crossings; suitable for experienced hikers).

See the chapter calendar below for the scheduled hikes and biking outings.
