Worcester WWI Memorial Grove Tree Replanting

WWI Living Memorial Tree Planting

With the Worcester Tree Initiative, Green Hill Park Coalition, and Mass DCR, members of the Sierra Club Massachusetts Chapter dedicated Saturday May 13, 2017 to the job of replanting 38 trees. Worcester Memorial Grove was designed to honor the 380 soldiers and 2 nurses from Worcester who lost their lives in the "War to end all Wars". Our goal was to help replace trees from the original monument in time for the WWI centennial on November 11, 2018.

Volunteers from Worcester County (and beyond) helped make a 4-5 hour project become a 2 hour project.
