Join us for a special evening to benefit the Sierra Club’s Houston Group and Lone Star Chapter. Gather with like-minded folks, enjoy good company, great appetizers and desserts. See displays of local conservation efforts and service projects. The Houston Electric Auto Association will also have electric vehicles on display.

Our featured guest will be Dr. Andrew Sansom, one of Texas’ leading conservationists, who will share his considerable knowledge on the topic of water and the environment. Dr. Sansom currently serves as Professor of Practice in Geography and Executive Director of The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University. There he coordinates university policy and research related to freshwater resources, manages the headwaters of the San Marcos River; administers the most extensive freshwater environmental education program in Texas; and supervises the training and coordination of more than 1,000 volunteer water monitors in rivers and streams throughout the state. 

Dr. Andrew Sansom is a former Executive Director of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Executive Director of the Texas Nature Conservancy. He has received numerous awards for his commitment to the management and protection of the state’s natural resources.
