Closing the Outdoors Equity Gap With Public Transit

Watch our forum on how public transportation can bring the outdoors within reach for communities across the country. In the US, 100 million people, including 28 million children, do not live within walking distance of a quality public park. During the forum, you’ll learn how the Transit to Trails Act will expand public transportation options to help close the outdoor equity gap.

The form featured Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) and panelists from the LA-based Nature for All Coalition, the Outdoors Alliance for Kids, Latino Outdoors, Green Latinos, and Sierra Club’s Outdoors for All campaign, who discussed what expanded public transit would mean for outdoor access and the path forward for this exciting piece of legislation.
