Step 1: Watch the 90 second explainer video above
We're so excited that you're here. This work is important because false information that is spread online can have serious consequences. Meanwhile, valuable content can get lost in the noise without enough people seeing it. Research shows that someone needs to see information three times before they remember it. So THANK YOU for becoming a climate truth teller!
Step 2: Keep an eye out for weekly emails, and join our WhatsApp group
Instructions
- Download the WhatsApp application if you don't already use it in your app store or at https://www.whatsapp.com/.
- Join the group using this link: https://sc.org/TruthTellersWhatsApp.
- Say hello and introduce yourself. Feel free to share why you joined or anything else you'd like!

Step 3: Learn about the importance of social media in shaping public opinion
- 70% of the U.S. (239 million people) use at least one social media platform daily. The most popular ones are Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram.
- The average person in the United States spends two hours and seven minutes daily on social media.
- According to Pew Research Group, half of U.S. adults often or sometimes get their news from social media.
- Pew also found that 77% of people in the U.S. believe social media is an effective way to raise awareness about political and social issues.
